still life // hints of spring

Neighbourhood blossoms, hinting at spring.

Gracie and Poppi (my mother in-law, Gracie's grandmother) meet on Monday of each week to spend time together and to allow me a little break. At each of these meetings they head outdoors to play, bringing back the loveliest remnants from their walks. This week they brought me a handful of tiny pink blossoms, a stick and two artichoke-shaped pinecones.

Walking through the neighbourhood today, little pink petals like a pale sheet covering the sidewalk, I smiled at the thought of the two of them... Gracie and Poppi, always doing the sweetest things together.

Remnants.
